Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
Doc Scanner ("the app") is published by Jyosan Labs, Ireland ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version
- We don't collect any data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Your documents stay on your device. Scanning, text recognition, document naming, reminders and AI features run on your iPhone or iPad.
- If you turn on iCloud Sync, your documents are stored in your own iCloud account, by Apple. We can't access them.
What the app stores on your device
- The pages you scan or import, the text read from them, folder names, document names, reminders and signatures.
- Your settings, for example whether App Lock is on.
This stays in the app's private storage on your device and is included in your device backups. Delete it any time by deleting documents (and emptying Recently Deleted) or by deleting the app.
Camera, photos and files
The camera is used only while you scan. Photos and files you choose are copied into the app. The app can't see the rest of your photo library or files.
Face ID and passcode
App Lock and the Vault use Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode through iOS. The app never sees your face data or passcode.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device. They don't pass through any server.
iCloud Sync (optional, Pro)
When you turn it on, your library is copied to a private database in your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. Apple processes this data under Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data. Turning sync off stops copying. To remove the copy, delete the app's data from iCloud in Settings.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive no payment or personal details, only confirmation from the App Store that a purchase is active.
Apple Intelligence (optional)
On supported devices, summaries and explanations are produced by Apple's on-device model. The text doesn't leave your device.
Identity documents
If you scan identity documents (for example Aadhaar or PAN), they're handled the same way as any other document: kept on your device, or in your iCloud if you turn sync on. The app shows only the last four digits of an Aadhaar number in its interface, and can export masked copies for sharing.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.
Your rights
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. For data protection questions, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, contact the grievance contact below.
